The Artist
Hello let me introduce myself my name is Sue Breeze. I am a self-taught artist specialising in commissioned pet portraits and wild life art. My preferred medium is pastels because they allow me to produce a soft yet detailed look, however I also enjoy using coloured pencils.
Growing up in the city of Birmingham, I yearned to escape into the country side, I wanted to enjoy the fresh air and picturesque scenery. When the opportunity to move to a small village South Derbyshire came I was elated and didn’t hesitate to move! Now I have my beautiful little house in the heart of the national forest. I am fortunate to share my home with my loving and supportive family and my furry , feathered and scaly companions. Here I am surrounded by the most stunning landscape and wildlife all of which inspires me in my work. At the same time the peace and relaxed environment provides a perfect setting for me to work. What a dream come true it is to be able to do this “job” every day.
It is an honour to work with my clients to develop a piece of fine art that truly reflects their pets unique features and personality. I pride myself in showing through my art your best friends character and soul. For me the eyes are of particular importance, because the expression and emotion in the eyes bring essential life and vibrancy to the animal. I am sure you have all heard the expression “the eyes are the windows to the soul.” One of my favourite parts of the commission process is hearing stories that help me get to know both you and your pet. Hearing all about them gives me inspiration to capture your pets character and attitude. A pet portrait is such a fantastic tribute to our amazing companions and also makes a truly wonderful memorial to our much loved pets that have passed over the rainbow bridge.
Prints
I also offer prints of my paintings/drawings which are available to buy in my shop. These make a fabulous gift for family and friends or why not treat yourself? I must emphasise here that commissioned portrait prints are only available for the original client to order.
